CHICAGO-January 14, 2008 — TMS Launches E-commerce Website For Niche Publications

Tribune Media Services (TMS), the content-licensing unit of Tribune Company, has launched an e-commerce content service designed to supply articles and images to the producers of niche magazines, newspaper advertorial sections and other targeted media.

The mission of the Special-Sections Content Service is to provide special-interest and niche publishers with material suitable for use in their print and online products. Content buyers may browse the site at www.tmsspecialtyproducts.com.

The e-commerce website gives users access to a searchable database of high-quality stories and images, and it permits them to preview, download and purchase this material by credit card on an a-la-carte or subscription basis. The service also includes comic strips, graphics and puzzles. Users of the Special-Sections Content Service also may place custom orders for content, including complete, paginated products delivered to customers through the site.

Suppliers of content to the new service include the Kiplinger personal finance group, cars.com, McClatchy-Tribune Information Services, Jupiterimages and TMS.

The TMS Specialty Products Group, which oversees the development and sale of advertorial content and special sections for TMS, is hosting the site.

"There is a growing demand for special-section content among companies operating in the ever-expanding world of niche publications," said Mary Elson, managing editor of TMS. "This service supplies these publishers with content from name-brand providers at affordable prices, and it does this through an easy-to-use website.

"We believe there is no content-on-demand service out there today that can match it," she added.

The service supplies text and images across a broad range of categories, including cars, employment, entertainment, family, finance, food, health and fitness, holidays, home and garden, lifestyle, outdoors/recreation, parenting, pets, real estate, seniors and weddings. TMS Specialty Products can supply content in other areas by request.
