Tribune Media Services Launches Premium Health News ServiceChicago, IL, November 4, 2005 - Tribune Media Services (TMS) has announced the launch of Premium Health News Service, a weekly package of health-related content drawn from brand-name publications such as U.S. News & World Report, Psychology Today, Harvard Health Letters and others. Officials at TMS, the content-licensing division of Tribune Company, say the new service will be marketed to newspapers across the United States and internationally. The weekly package will contain feature articles, color photos, commentary and Q&A columns from experts at the Mayo Clinic and Harvard Health Letters. Sources also will include New Scientist and Fitness magazines. "In this new service, we are offering newspapers some of the most highly regarded and authoritative information on health today," said Mary Elson, Managing Editor at TMS. "We believe that this will give clients an impressive range of content--from longer, analytical pieces on medical advances to snappy, consumer-oriented shorts on diet and fitness. "We're creating an easy, one-stop-shopping approach to give newspaper readers comprehensive material that will improve their quality of life and also be entertaining to read," she said. The package will offer advice on an array of topics, including disease prevention, keeping kids healthy and navigating changes in health insurance. The package will also include commentary by Dr. Bernadine Healy of U.S. News & World Report, as well as the magazine's highly praised special reports on health and medicine.
