Daily Content From Arianna Huffington's Groundbreaking New Huffington Post Available To Newspapers From Tribune Media Services

Chicago, IL, April 26, 2005 — Linking with a cast of luminaries from Walter Cronkite and Larry David to Nora Ephron and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Tribune Media Services (TMS) is announcing a partnership in The Huffington Post (www.huffingtonpost.com)-- a new Internet media venture led by TMS columnist Arianna Huffington. The Huffington Post will launch Monday, May 9.

TMS aims to create a new syndication model by offering newspapers and their Web sites daily material from the new 24-hour news and blogging site. The Huffington Post will feature dispatches from some of the biggest names in Hollywood, corporate America, politics and the media.

The Huffington Post combines breaking news and media commentary with an innovative group blog featuring fresh takes from some of our culture's most original thinkers, weighing in on a wide range of subjects -- from the political to the personal.

"The Huffington Post is bringing a whole group of people into the blogosphere who haven't been a part of it," said Arianna Huffington. "And our partnership with Tribune will allow newspaper readers to get a sample of the amazing conversation that is happening on-line. It combines the best elements of the old guard and the vanguard in a fresh and distinctive way."

"TMS is excited to be part of this new media venture," said David Williams, president and CEO of Tribune Media Services, which has long syndicated Arianna Huffington's political commentary. "Arianna has assembled a group of contributors who are certain to shake up the world of opinion writing and the Internet. We hope that TMS' daily sampling of these voices will brighten newspapers and enliven discourse among readers."

Huffington is partnering in the venture with Ken Lerer, former executive vice president of AOL Time Warner.

She said other names in the eclectic mix of viewpoints include: Arthur Schlesinger Jr., David Mamet, Tina Brown, James Fallows, Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton, Vernon Jordan, Mort Zuckerman, Norman Mailer, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and many others.
